About Us

Amalgamated Transit Union Local 639 was organized on July 10, 1913.

The ATU was organized in 1892 for the common purposes of bargaining collectively to improve working conditions, wages, and benefits, defending workers' rights, and promoting their general welfare.

Local 639 represents maintenance staff and bus operators at Lextran in Lexington, KY.
