The ATU Attends the White House Recognizing U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship Ambassadors
At a White House ceremony yesterday, our Union, as one of the first U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship Ambassadors, had the honor of attending an event to welcome the latest cohort of Apprenticeship Ambassadors and recognize current ambassadors for meeting or exceeding their commitments to expand and diversify Registered Apprenticeships. To represent our Union, International President John Costa sent ATU Workforce Development Coordinator Eliseo Acosta.
As one of the 441 DOL Apprenticeship Ambassadors, our Union is helping to modernize, strengthen, diversify, and accelerate the use of Registered Apprenticeships to improve career pathways and equity across our nation. With IP Costa’s commitment to workforce development, our Union is leading the way in for apprenticeships in the transit industry.
