IP John Costa and IEVP Yvette Trujillo addressed an ATU Executive Board Member training
Today, International President John Costa and International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo addressed an ATU Executive Board Member training. More than 150 ATU Local leaders from across 50 Locals across our Union attended this innovative training.
“This is one of the biggest zoom trainings our Union has ever conducted. As Executive Board members, you play an important role for your Local and our members. You must organize, strategize, and think outside the box,” Costa told the attendees. “In your job you have a responsibility. It requires knowledge, skills, and dedication. Thank you to all of you for taking to time to attend this training so we can arm you with the skills needed in this critical job to represent your members and your Local.”
Conducted by ATU General Counsel Dan Smith, the training covered many topics including an introduction to officers’ roles and responsibilities as well as those of Executive Board members under the ATU Constitution and General Laws. Attendees also learned about the administrative role of executive board members including Local Union oversight and fiduciary responsibilities.
