Meetings of the Multi-Employer, MV Transportation, and Schools Bus Joint Industry Councils (JIC) were conducted.
ATU International President John Costa, International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo, and International Secretary-Treasurer Ken Kirk conducted meetings of the Multi-Employer, MV Transportation, and Schools Bus Joint Industry Councils (JIC). Costa commended the Local leaders for their leadership and talked about the importance and power of the JICs.
“Through the JICs, our Union has been able to secure better contracts with our private employers,” Costa told attendees. “We’ve come a long way since the JICs began, but I know working together we can continue to achieve even more.”
The meetings covered corporate updates on each private company, other industry news, our contract fights, and other issues. The JIC members also conducted nominations for officers. All positions were unopposed. The new JIC officers are:
